In the Most Unexpected of Places | Bat Yam’s New Artist Colony

Bat Yam, a coastal city just south of Tel Aviv, is a growing city just emerging from some tough times. Known for a long time as a city of crime, poverty, and low end real estate, the city’s waterfront has become a focal point of renewed interest, with numerous new building projects and developments, attracting many foreigners and Israelis who have turned away from Tel Aviv’s soaring home prices and are attracted to Bat Yam’s 10 minute drive to Tel Aviv’s center.
